SPRING INTO FUN
As winter fades and spring begins, there’s no better way to welcome the season than by stretching your legs and soaking in some rays at the annual Spring Mountain Festival in Petersburg. Find food, fun, and festivities at this fan-favorite event hosted by the Grant County Chamber of Commerce. Mark your calendars for April 25–27, 2025, and get ready for an unforgettable time in our beautiful Potomac Highlands.
CELEBRATE
The Spring Mountain Festival has deep roots in Grant County, tracing its origins back to the 1970s with the thrilling White Water Weekend—an event that combined U.S. Championship Canoe Races and the Golden Trout Festival on the North Fork of the Potomac River. 32 years after the first Spring Mountain Festival, our community spirit remains strong, and the festival draws nearly 6,000 visitors each year. After all, who wouldn’t love to soak in the sun and small-town charm?
The weekend is filled with opportunities to shake off those winter blues—and you’ll really shake them off, because this year’s musical line-up is sure to get you moving. Throughout the weekend, catch performances by country artists Jack and Davis Reid, Justin Hensley, Tennessee Mojo, and Jonathan Zinn. If classic rock is more your style, Rewind and Off The Railz will get your foot tapping to timeless hits.
Once your dancing shoes are all worn out, kick back and watch the parade, catch an act by Raymond’s Gymnastics group, check out the antique car, truck, tractor, and engine show, or watch the dog and puppy parade—your cheeks might hurt from grinning so much. Celebrate tradition with the Trout Derby, or get your kiddo reeling and ready for next year’s derby with a fly fishing class by Three Rivers Guiding.
SHOP
If you’re looking to take a piece of the festival home with you, there are plenty of souvenirs to choose from. In previous years, arts and crafts vendors have brought along handmade jewelry, vintage treasures, original artwork, one-of-a-kind woodworking, and more. While you’re gearing up for spring gardening, use your green thumb to grab a few plants from local growers.
Wander on over to Yours, Mine & Ours Boutique and Flea Market directly across the road and find more than 30 vendors with fashion, decor, and hidden gems.
SAVOR
No festival is complete without delicious food, and our Spring Mountain Festival delivers. Foodies of all kinds are guaranteed to find a go-to treat from a variety of local vendors. From BBQ to crab to sausages, the fare is sure to leave you feeling satisfied.
While the festival food is tasty, be sure to check out our other local eateries while you’re in town. Dig into a stack of pancakes at Family Traditions, or relish a juicy steak at Petersburg’s newest fine dining experience, Hermitage 1841 Restaurant.
After a weekend of catchy tunes, treasure hunting, trout catching, and tasty treats, you’re sure to bid Petersburg a “see you later!” with a refreshed pep in your step and new cherished memories.
