Join us at Shelters 1 and 2 at Welton Park on April 29th
From 8:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. to view the sunset, Venus, waxing gibbous (just after first quarter) moon, Mars, deep space objects, constellations, and more through several telescopes. Spectacular views of the dark night sky will be seen through a sixteen-inch mirror reflector operated by amateur astronomers, John and Cassie Tudek. Additional telescopes will be operated by Robert Strong and Richard Pollack and assisted by Libby Wilkinson Strong and Marybeth Pollack of the SMART-Center in Wheeling.
If the skies are cloudy or there is inclement weather, StarWatch attendees will enjoy several interactive and family friendly astronomy activities. There will also be astronomy related discussions based on current astronomy events and your astronomy related questions.
